Our mission is to help schools and communities empower young Black males to disrupt stigmas surrounding mental health through education, practice, and increasing access to affordable mental health services.
Through Black Boy Heal’s support and resources, young Black males are not only empowered to take control of their mental health and wellbeing, but they can do so in a supportive community.
Wellness plans: a journal that teaches Black males various mental health strategies including: coping, journaling, meditation, naming that emotion, etc.
Free mental health services from licensed therapists (Virtual and In-Person)
Academic success coaching: Black males will be matched with a coach to receive individual assistance with time management skills, goal-setting and study strategies.
The Black Boy Heal program, in partnership with Man 2 Man counseling, offers workshops and seminars on various mental health-related topics
As a Black man, I was taught that therapy was for weak people. As I matured I realized that line of thinking was asinine and getting your feelings sorted out was one of the best things you can do.
Going to therapy as a black male has been a freeing experience. I didn't grow up in a household where discussing things like this were embraced, so it feels good to finally have the help while I can.
Therapy has help me look at the things I have done and why I receive certain results. It has also made me more conscious of how interact people.
